Copa Libertadores wrap: Unbeaten Garcilaso pounce late

Peruvian club Real Garcilaso snatched a late 1-0 victory away to Cerro Porteno to remain unbeaten in the Copa Libertadores group stages.

Freddy Garcia's men moved to four points through two games, while their Paraguayan opponents made it back-to-back losses in the competition, after Alfredo Ramua netted an 88th-minute winner at Estadio General Pablo Rojas.

Argentine attacker Ramua was a second-half substitute, scoring 10 minutes after gracing the pitch to break a personal drought that extended back to November 2011, when he was with Ecuadorian side Olmedo.

Real Garcilaso sit second in Group 6, level on points and goal difference with leaders Deportes Tolima, who earned a point away to fellow Colombian outfit Santa Fe on Thursday.

Andres Andrade fired Tolima ahead on five minutes at the Estadio Nemesio Camacho, only for the hosts to draw level 10 minutes later via midfielder John Valencia - with 1-1 the scoreline at the final whistle.

Deportivo Lara, of Venezuela, ensured all sides in Group 7 were level on three points through two matches, when they secured a 2-1 victory at home to Newell's Old Boys.

Jesus Gomez and Marlon Fernandez were both on target in the first and second half respectively, with Marcos Caceres' 90th-minute effort for the Argentines proving scant consolation.

In their first match in Group 2, Libertad went top of the table with a 2-0 away win over 10-man Tigre.

The Paraguayan side were handed a massive advantage in the contest at the Estadio Jose Dellagiovanna when referee Roberto Silvera sent off Tigre defender Alejandro Donatti eight minutes into the second half.

The dismissal also saw the visitors earn a penalty, which Sergio Aquino duly dispatched, before Jorge Gonzalez sealed the three points on 88 minutes.

The result was the perfect start for Ruben Israel's men to attempt to match their quarter-final appearance in the continental tournament in 2012, while for Tigre - the 2012 Copa Sudamericana runners-up - they will have to fight back in their remaining five group games if they are to earn qualification to the knockout stages.
